OUR MISSON
We seek to unite a diverse, nonpartisan group of both scientists and a public who recognize that robustly funded and publicly communicated science is a vital to our community, nation and future. Our High Country community has a special relationship to our natural resources and environment. We depend on a healthy environment from our ski slopes to clean rivers for trout. We value STEM education and robust scientific inquiry. We march to show our commitment to evidence-based conservation and our respect for the scientific research that will help protect our way of life for future generations.
The idea of a local satellite march came about when five of us were going to join the Denver March for Science, then thought we should be marching right here! Our mountain communities are going to be tremendously affected by climate change. So five local residents, Kristen Ickes, Linda Schutt, Emily Tracy, Ujala Vatas, Page Van Meter, are working together and working hard, to make it happen.
While our March will be held in Breckenridge, we're naming it the March for Science-High Country to hopefully have all nearby mountain communities join in.
